The first Future in Safe Hands Festival is taking place July 26-28, 2024 in Sturgeon Falls.

Some workshops require registration. Festival passes available for $30. All are welcome.

Friday July 26th

(10am) Marcel and Jane Labbé Arena - Installation begins. Festival team will be working with artists Kelsey Ruhl and Clayton Windatt in installing in the Arena.

(12pm) Festival opening remarks. Continuity: Community Activation opens with introduction to audience participation by Clayton Windatt. Jam sessions with Davi Aquino and Jacob Dayfox begin.

(1pm)Radicle Yew” opens with artist talk by Kelsey Ruhl.

(2pm) Performance art showcase begins with Alex Maeve Campbell performing “The Last Time”, the JuJe Collective, Anyse Ducharme and Cesar Forero.

(7pm) Chatelanes Bowling - 938R+98 Sturgeon Falls - Bowling Art Party! Come meet the artists and bowl! Music will be provided by Davi Aquino and Jacob Dayfox.

(9pm) Performance by fauxcils

Saturday July 27th

(10am) Marcel and Jane Labbé Arena - Workshops begins. Event space is open to the public.

(12:30pm) Fish “Truck” Feast -  Working with Jocko Point Fish & Chips, Live music by Davi Aquino and Jacob Dayfox. There will be delicious freshly fried pickerel but there will be no truck this year.

Sunday July 28th

(10am) Marcel and Jane Labbé Arena - Festival staff are on-site and installations are open to the public.

(10:30am) Workshop: FISHFEST ZINE with Clayton and Tara Windatt. Participation on-site in collaborative creation that will be included in this year’s ZINE.

(12:30pm) Festival closing remarks. Festival staff will be striking the arena space and wrapping things up for the year. :)
