Davi Aquino is a Brazilian musician and foley artist living in North Bay, Ontario. An accomplished session guitarist/bassist and composer, Davi moved to Canada via Ireland in 2014. He has played in countless bands across three continents, from hard rock cover bands in Brazil, to up-and-coming indie bands - most notably the indie darling band Rooftop Anthem - in Dublin, Ireland and most recently with singer-songwriter Julien Kelland in Ontario.
Davi married his love for sound and recording with his self-taught skills in editing to break into the post-production sound industry in foley in 2014. He has worked for the last decade as an editor and foley artist, earning multiple nominations for his work, being awarded a Canadian Screen Award for his work on 'Vikings' and an Emmy for his foley editing on 'The Last of Us'.
Davi’s work in foley, a deeply anolog-driven sound practice, has reinforced his enthusiasm and passion for anolog-based composing and recording for music. With a distinct focus on “less is more”, Davi is unsatisfied with the “perfect and polished” attitude that beleaguers music today, and instead seeks to ask answerless questions through his compositions.
